Platter, 14 x 11 inches. Black transfer. Printed maker's marks for Thomas Booth & Son. This pattern features a blooming cactus flower and buds on a thorny stem curling around the bottom edge of the platter. There is also a fern frond and smaller flowers. A butterfly in flight hovers in the center well.
Thomas Booth (the founder of the business) died in 1872 and his son Thomas Gimbert Booth took over the business on his account. The title became Thomas Booth & Son.
