Calaca #51. Full face mask used in performances by Arizona dance and theater companies. Pink triangles pointing down on the forehead edge, with a blue W painted shape. Colored jewels on forehead and green marks on the sides. Eyes have orange flower petal designs around them. Cheeks have blue lines with a jewel on the left cheek. Teeth are outlined in pink paint with orange lines around the mouth. Green and blue curves are painted along the jaw line and chin.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
