Clay molded mask, cast in fiberglass.
Calaca mask surrounded by orange, blue, pink, and purple planks; created by artist to represent the rays of the sun and embody the "energy of life." Outside crown perimeter painted in yellow and embellished with silver metalcraft pieces. Rectangular middle plank with blue and pink southwest designs carved in and an indentation at the edge. Followed by two squiggly shaped red-orange rays on each side, two wooden plank rays with orange triangle shapes carved in, two red-orange triangular shaped rays, and finally two rays with rounded edges and a multi-colored southwest design carved in purple, pink, and blue.
Part of the Las Calacas Coronas series originally created as a performance piece. Currently on a perfomance hiatus because of the ill fit on performers.
